I am a volunteer at the Indiana State Archives. I am working on a series of folders that contain the incorporation papers in Indiana, usually from about 1900 to 1940. My job is to take all of the metal fasteners out of the papers, put them in order, and refile them acid-free folders and boxes. Afterwards, the titles of these companies will be digitized and put on the Indiana State Archives website.

My purpose with these notes is to expand on the information that would otherwise be merely an index of these companies; to provide more background on the variety of companies incorporated in Indiana during the early 20th Century. I will not include all of the companies, just samples of those that show their diversity. I hope  this will prove interesting to historians of Indiana.
